We’re a group of passionate and hard-working people who have been in the coffee industry for more than 20 years. We believe in building long-term relationships with our customers, so we take care of every detail and have high standards to ensure that you will not have any issues with your coffee. Our roasting house is based in the city of Linz in Austria, and our roastery is located in the city of Giessen in Germany. Our roastery has two locations, one in the city of Költingen, the other in the city of Schwabing.

We are The Coffeeshops Company with roots in Austria. Founded by brothers Peter and Marco Schmitz who have been dedicated coffee experts since 1995, we focus on excellence, transparency between farmer & retailer – this is our core values. Each member of our team has worked at several fine coffee shops across Europe from small batch roasters to international purveyors of premium coffeename:The Schmitzes were pioneers of fine coffee growing up in San Jose, California where they started their own café business which soon went out-of town.

The Coffee Roastery was created with the people of Scotland in mind. We are committed to making an impact in the coffee industry, and we will always strive to help us improve ourselves and our trade. It is a passion of ours, so we always stay on top of our profession and become better people by doing that. With our collective skill, we have developed an extremely large coffee roaster which we operate with great pride within the local coffee industry.

All of our coffee is prepared by skilled specialists in our roastery in Dorset, with the exception of our speciality of coffees where we roast a single lot of trees of specific origin. Our aim is to provide a service that is simple, yet as rewarding as possible while at the same time maintaining our quality standards. Our roasting company is based in the heart of Leeds and is based in the beautiful countryside of Darwen, near the centre of Leeds.

The Coffee Shop Co-op was started by two men with different backgrounds – our owners are German expats who migrated to this part post war Europe (we didn’t know about Austria!). After having been working as IT developers at Microsoft there we decided that it would not be enough if only people could understand how brilliant technology they work under!
